Journal 005 Cycle of scientific research

 Our team have weekly progress meeting. Not like public seminar, it is an internal meeting. So I usually skip introduction. First, I recap decision we've made last week. Second, I report progress with data. Third, I make a summery and conclusion in case some people lost. Final, I propose new plans for the next week. Hoping get some suggestions or supports from team.

Sometime, the result didn't fit my expectation. I will report the issue and try to find possible reasons and propose solutions.

Here is cycle of my scientific research:

Find the problem -> propose new solution -> experiment -> data collection and analysis -> conclusion -> another new problem...

  Spend thousands of dollars and 3 months for improving sample quality. Finally, I got a data from the best quality sample. And the conclusion is so crystal clear: This method does not working. The efficiency (< 0.5%) is lower than previous version (60%-72%). It's fine Dr. Wily. This is part of science. At least, you know what is wrong. Journal 001 Cypress Trail hiking

This weekend, I had a hiking for 5 miles in the forest, Cypress Trail. The trail is quiet, sandy and rocky with shades of trees. It took me almost 3 hours to finish a round trip. It is worth to drive for 90 min from Phoenix to Payson via route 87. The temperature was around 70s in the morning, while 90 in the Phoenix. The temperate forest remind me of the time in the east coast when I arrived US.

Journal 004 Professional service

Recently, I have a potential cooperation about data analysis. When I was glancing materials I though: These requests are easy to me. I could finish it in couple days without any problem, then make a fancy and human readable report in a week.  Next moment, I realized I am providing people call "professional service". It is something easy to me, but not people without training and experiences. I'm proud of my self have a opportunity to contribute the society.
